Our Mission
Health
Ministries works closely with our
Parish Nurse to improve the physical, spiritual, and emotional health and
wellness of the congregation through education and encouragement. We are
involved in a variety of activities and events, including:
- Services of worship
- Education and support to encourage
healthier lifestyles for all ages
- Distribution of health information to
church members through newsletters, "Tower Chimes" articles, and
bulletin boards.
- Health fairs for children and adults
- CPR classes
- Blood drives
- Monthly blood pressure screening

Hope Ministry
Ongoing ministries include:

Annual Fall flu clinics, blood drives, community outreach carnival health booth, CPR and defibrillator classes, nutrition and exercise classes for 3-year olds to high school seniors, and Christmas health and wellness gifts for the congregation.
- Monthly educational bulletin boards and blood pressure screenings.
- Medical loan closet of equipment for use for parishioners and community alike.
- Literature rack related to grief and loss care issues. Teaming with other committees in programming events with participation and/or bringing in event/and or specific topic speakers.
- Weekly book studies related to healthy nutrition, weight and spirituality, specifically assessing and growing in the Christian faith and life-style changes.
Other health and wellness events include:
- Advance directives and planning of life and death
- Usher and first responder training related to physical crises
- Cholesterol screenings
- Adult and children's health fairs
- Bike helmet, first aid safety and sales Sundays
- Disabilities awareness Sundays
- Worship participation and planning
- Nutrition & exercise classes (including yoga)
Please Join Us
All members of
the congregation are encouraged to join Health Ministries. Ideas and volunteers
are always needed. The activities of the group, and the opportunities for
ministry, are very diverse. Volunteer opportunities include:

Providing health

or support in group or individually

articles to promote group activities

Assisting in
group-sponsored events

Preparing health foods
for group-sponsored events
What Skills Do I Need?
If you have an
interest in physical, spiritual, or emotional health and wellness, then you
would be a wonderful addition to this ministry. Members need not be
health care professionals or have any health care background.
