In July 2008, First Church approved an updated Safe Sanctuaries Policy. This policy was instituted so that we can continue to keep our community and children safe. Some highlights of the policy include:

• The “Two Adult Rule”
• Windows in the classrooms
• Photo IDs for all teachers
• Pager system in the nursery
• Medical Release/Permission forms for all children
• Background checks for all volunteers working with minors

We also ask you to take responsibility for the safety of our children and youth in the following ways:

• DO NOT leave your children unattended before or after Sunday School.
• Children in preschool through 6th grade MUST be picked up from their classrooms after Sunday School at 10:10am or 11:30am.
• Medical/Permission forms MUST be completed and on file in the church office for anyone under the age of 18.
• Have a heightened sense of your surroundings.
• Help others identify you by wearing your name tag.
