The Tower Chimes is going digital!

In the coming months, First UMC will make the transition from the monthly mailed paper edition of The Tower Chimes to a bi-monthly e-mail version.

What does this mean for you?

• The information you receive will be more up to date and will come more frequently.
• You will be the first to know when we’ve made updates to the website.
• There will be new opportunities to share news and resources with your friends.
• You can read the newsletter anywhere you receive your e-mail: at your desk, on your phone, at home, etc.
• We will be sending out formational pieces around ministries at First Church as well as updates on what will be happening in worship in advance so you can make the most of your time when you arrive at church.

What does this mean for the environment?

• We will be saving trees by reducing our paper usage.
• Less mail means less vehicle emissions from mail trucks.
• Increased attention on the reduce portion of the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle equation.

What does this mean for ministry at First Church?

• Reducing the number of paper newsletters sent each month will free up hundreds of dollars, creating opportunity for new or expanded ministries.
• Increased visibility for ministries that might otherwise go unnoticed and unsupported.
• More opportunities for development and discipleship for First Church members throughout the month, providing fuel for mission and ministry throughout the city of Waukesha and in the world.

If you do not have access to e-mail, please call the office and confirm with Diane that you would like to continue to receive your newsletter in the mail. Look for your September issue for a full description of the changes and new format.

The digital version of The Tower Chimes will be sent on or around the 1st and 15th of the month and will contain spiritual formation pieces, devotions, ministry updates, a calendar and links to website updates.

We will continue to send a paper copy for those who do not have e-mail access. Paper copies will include print outs of the two e-mail newsletters along with a monthly calendar and will be mailed on or around the 16th of each month.
