FUMC Safety Policy 

In May 2007, First Church approved a Safe Sanctuaries Policy. This policy was instituted so that we can continue to keep our church community safe. The policy includes:

· The “Two Adult Rule”

· Windows in the classrooms

· Photo IDs for all teachers

· Pager system in the nursery

· Medical Release/Permission forms for all children/youth

· Background checks for all volunteers working with minors

We also ask you to take responsibility for the safety of our children and youth in the following ways:

· DO NOT leave your children unattended before or after Sunday School.

· Children in preschool through 6th grade MUST be picked up from their classrooms after Sunday School at 10:10am or 11:30am.

· Medical/Permission forms MUST be completed and on file in the church office for anyone under the age of 18.

· Have a heightened sense of your surroundings.

· Help others identify you by wearing your name tag.
